Patty Reed Insta-Totes Review and Giveaway!!

Lately I have been very interested in going more "Green" thanks to DeDa Studios blog!  With me being very interested in going "Green" I was excited to get to review Patty Reed Insta-Totes!  You may be asking why I am talking about going green and a tote!  Well here is one of the reasons why!  Did you know that the average person uses over 355 plastic shopping bags a year?  Can you image how green you can be just by replacing some of those with one reusable tote?  Or better yet what if we replaced ALL of those plastic bags with reusable totes?  That sounds like a lot of green living to me!
With that said I am happy to announce Patty Reed's Insta-Totes!  Using Patty Reed Insta-Totes makes me feel like I am doing double duty green living.  Patty Reed Insta-Totes are made from recycled water and soda bottles!  How cool is that?  Being made from recycled bottle makes the totes very durable, tear resistant, helps it hold its shape and makes it very easy to clean!
I picked out the Stripes & Dots (Pink) shopping tote!  It is so cute!  I can honestly say I'd rather carry my Stripes & Dots shopping tote around then a plastic shopping bag!  What an encouraging way to go green!  Not only am I going green I'm shopping in style!
Isn't this Patty Reed Insta-Tote cute?
Now that I've talked about the green side of Patty Reed Insta-Totes I'll move on to the other great things I fell in love with about my shopping tote!  The shopping tote made it very easy to organize my purchases!  I just love it!  The Stripes & Dots shopping tote features 3 different sized pockets for holding bottles, newspapers or my favorite my liquid egg whites!  The position of the different size pockets make it perfect to fit your other products around the outside of those pockets!
One of the reasons I didn't use a reusable tote for a long time is because most of the ones I owned where made of fabric and I got tired of having to wash them in the washer all of the time.  Patty Reed Insta-Totes has honestly thought about everything with their line of totes.  Because of the totes being made out of plastic bottles cleaning them is easy!  All you have to do is simply wipe the bag clean!  To prevent cross contamination of foods you can sanitize the bag by spraying with a solution of 10 parts water to 1 part bleach, dry with a paper towel, or you can spray with a commercial disinfectant spray!  This is just perfect for me!  With two kids and a husband I have enough laundry to do without having to wash reusable fabric bags!  Plus talk about saving water!!!  If you want a green disinfectant you can use vinegar!  It's an effective natural disinfectant!  Again, thank you DeDa Studios!

You really have to check out all of the awesome products on the Patty Reed Insta-Totes website and on Facebook!

Awesome Homemade Dog Treats!

Hey everyone!  My name is Krystal Rivera I'm a 24 year old stay at home mom/photographer of 3 boys!  My boys are ages 2, 3 and 4.  I have been married for 5 years.  I love to indulge in the wonderful world that is couponing and homemade EVERYTHING!  Among the many many titles motherhood brings to the table. I enjoy making the best of every little bit!  That means stressing for house to create a perfectly coordinated Shopping list.  I enjoy creating fun and educational games and sensory play for my boys.  My 3 year old has autism and he is a huge inspiration to all of us to enjoy the littlest of things thus opening the wonderful world of sensory play.  So with all of that being said I am extremely excited to bring to you some of what makes my home boom with personality. I will be sharing tips and tricks to the everyday parent!

I wanted to start by sharing this super easy and really yummy (for dogs that is) recipe for treats that will not only save you money but give you piece of mind as to what goes into your pups/dogs mouth.  I use this recipe all year round.  I mix and match ingredients which makes this a fun recipe!

INGREDIENTS:
*1 Cup all-purpose flour (or whole wheat flour for higher nutrition)
*1 Cup hot water
*1/4 Cup of quick oats
*1 small can of any variety soft/chunky dog food
1 1/2 Cups of hard dog food any variety (I use Purina One-Smart Blend)
(Makes approx.200 treats)

DIRECTIONS:
First off in a mixing bowl put the hard dog food then pour scolding hot water into the bowl with the dog food letting it sit for 5-10 minutes or until dog food has softened and poofed up.  Once it's nice and fluffy start adding half the flour slowly mixing it till it gets nice and thick and will be a bit sticky. Then once that's mixed up add your can of soft dog food continue mixing it, it will soften back up again then add the rest of the flour until thick again.  Add your oats and mix, mix, mix till well blended then preheat your oven to 400 degrees.  Place 1/2 inch spoon fulls onto a floured cookie sheet.  Bake as many batches as the mixture will allow you.  You can bake each batch at different time lengths to get a variety of textures from soft to really crunchy pieces.  My German Shepherds love the crunchy ones!
You can switch out the oats or just add carrot shavings.  Apple chunks, dried cranberries or baby food purees can replace the dog food, endless mix and matches!  ENJOY!!

P.S. I got this great freebie online at the Purina website where if you breed pups or own 5 or more dogs in your household you can score a free kit!  Each kit contains very high value coupons, plus 3 coupons for full size free bags of Purina puppy chow,Purina One Smart Blend, Purina One healthy weight.  I used these coupons to make these treats.  Super frugal and managed to make treat baskets for the owners of the little we just sold!  So if you breed pups or have 5 or more dogs head Here to get your kit!

Writing Companies Day 1

Writing companies for coupons is easy!  You will NOT always get coupons but a lot of them will send coupons as a thank you for positive feedback on their products!  I do not write companies and ask for coupons, I write and just tell them what product(s) I like and why!  The rule of thumb is you can rewrite each company every six months.  You have all said that you'd like to write to one company a day so let's get started.

Day 1: Ocean Spray - I received 1 free product coupon

Clean is Always Better-Healthier Homestead Egg Wipes Review & Giveaway!

318341_2771917072369_1518790584_a
I was really surprised when I got offered the chance to do a review on Healthier Homestead Egg Wipes!  I have bought eggs from farms before but I would often get turned off of them and go back to store bought eggs because I would hate when I got eggs from farms and they were not completely clean.  Now that I have Healthier Homestead Egg Wipes I can now purchase farm eggs and not care if they are still a little dirty! Healthier Homestead Egg Wipes are an awesome egg wipe made from water, non-ionic surfactants derived from corn, palm and coconut oils, water conditioner, preservative-less than .2%.

The Egg Wipes work amazing!  I may be a weird person but even when I purchase eggs from the store instead of a farm I feel the need to clean the shell.  I mean where have they been?  How many people have opened that egg container and poked at the eggs to make sure they were not broke or where the ones they wanted?  I know we don't eat the egg shell but still when we go to crack them our hands touch them and then if we don't wash our hands right away we are taking germs from the shell and getting them all over the house!
I can see Healthier Homestead Egg Wipes being great for use on farms and in a regular home!  I can just imagine how much someone who owns chickens would LOVE these Egg Wipes!  One Egg Wipe cleans about 1 dozen eggs depending out the soil level.  Healthier Homestead Egg Wipes come in a canister of 25 wipes!  That means with one canister you can clean about 25 dozen eggs!   Sounds great right?  Well it gets even better!  Healthier Homestead Egg Wipes by Garden Guys are biodegradable and after using them you can place them in your compost!  Talk about an awesome green product!

ToughHound - All Sports Dog Collar Review

I was so excited to get to do a review for the ToughHound Engraved Sports Dog Collar.  The ToughHound Personalized collar was provided as a review sample and is available for purchase at the Dog Bark Collar store!
I really love the ToughHound Dog collar because you get to pick the size, font, text and the color!  They have 8 different colors to choose from and 13 different fonts.  When I was trying to pick out the color of the ToughHound collar I wanted I decided to go with the Neon Pink.  I fell in love with the Neon Pink.  Our family dog is male so I decided to get the collar for my mom's dog Jackie.
I just love how well the Neon Pink goes with Jackie's black fur!  In this picture she is sitting pretty for me and showing off her brand new ToughHound dog collar!

I love that you can personalize the collar with what you want it to say.  They gave me some ideas of what they think are ideal for the collar.  Some of those ideas are:

Dogs Name
Phone Number
City, State

Dogs Name
Contact My Family
Phone Number

Dogs Name
Phone #1
Phone #2
Microchipped

Dogs Name
Phone Number
Needs Meds!!
I'm Friendly!

Since Jackie doesn't do a lot of traveling with her family and does not have to take medicine for anything I decided to have her collar engraved with:
Her Name
Phone #1
Phone #2
I'm Friendly
I just love Jackie's collar and I think they did an amazing job engraving it!
Jackie's ToughHound Collar

The ToughHound Collar is made of a durable polycoated collar band and stainless steel hardware.  I think the collar is very durable and I think the company did and awesome job picking out the materials to make it! The collar can be customized with up to four lines of text that they will laser-etch.  Each of those four lines can have up 14 characters!

A Rough Week!

*This picture is not mine it's from Here*
Talk about a rough week!  My goodness!  This week has been the hardest since I started my weight journey!  If you have been following my weight journey posts then you know that last week my goal was to get moving/exercise more.  My bad luck defiantly played a factor in that plan!  About a year ago I had surgery done on my foot.  They put a pin in my foot during this surgery.  Well last week Wednesday 2/27/13 I dropped two glass jars of pasta sauce on that foot and the pin moved.  After a trip to the emergency room I ended up in a surgical boot and on crutches again.  Needless to say between the crutches and the pain I have not been moving much.
I have decided I need to set a different goal to try to accomplish this next week because the exercise thing is just not working for me right now.  I know there are still exercises I can do but honestly with being in pain I just don't feel like it.  So my goal for this next week is to try to start planning my dinner meals a head of time. Weight Watchers has reminded me that if I plan my dinners ahead of time I am less likely to make bad decisions at dinner time!  I have always liked making up a dinner menu anyway but for some reason I have slipped away from it so now is the time to start planning ahead again!  Who's with me?
Good news this week is I hit my 10% weight loss goal!  I have lost a total of 18 pounds since starting this weight journey!  Let me tell you it feels amazing!  I still have a ways to go but knowing how well this is working for me it's easy to come up with the determination I know it's gonna take!
The Key chain Weight Watchers gave me for reaching
my 10% goal.
So what are your guys goals this week?  Anyone else have a rough week?  Who is going to try to start meal planning?  Please let me know!  Thank you all for all of the exercise idea's!  Once my foot is doing better I will for sure being trying some of the idea's you all gave me!
