The Flying Squirrel PJ's Review and Giveaway - Zipadee-Zip!

I was recently offered the chance to work with Zipadee-Zip doing a review of their Flying Squirrel PJ's.  My son is 5 (will be 6 in February) so I jumped on the chance to get the Flying Squirrel PJ's for him.  The Sleeping Baby brand was made by a mother with the will to want to be at home with her baby girl and her baby girl having a problem with Swaddle Transition!  The Flying Squirrel PJ's go from size 2T-5T but they are designed to be baggy and run a bit big so they last through all the crazy growth spurts little kids have and it still has the same general shape as the Zipadee-Zip. The Flying Squirrel PJ was created due to a demand for a product to follow the size large Zipadee-Zip but my son has never used the Zipadee-Zip and I can tell you that if your child has never used a Zipadee-Zip the Flying Squirrel PJ's are still a great choice for PJ's!  My son has epilepsy and I think at times it causes him to be very particular about certain things.  I found that when we got the Flying Squirrel PJ's in the mail and he started using them he seemed a lot more relaxed heading to bed at night.  We wouldn't have to ask him tons of times to get him PJ's on he would just do it.  Then in the mornings he wouldn't want to take them off.  He would just keep telling me they were so comfy he wanted them to stay on.   I think as a mom my favorite thing about the Flying Squirrel PJ's was that it has option hand and foot coverings.  My son loves having socks on when heading to bed and we always seem to lose them in the blankets and the Flying Squirrel PJ's have saved us lots of time looking for missing socks!  I also noticed that he liked having the hand coverings on just in the morning when he would first get up tell he got used to the temperature in the house after getting out of bed without having his blankets on anymore.  I think that the Flying Squirrel PJ's would be great for people with kids that move around a lot in there sleep and kick blankets off because the optional hand and feet coverings will help keep the kids warm! 201 Healthy Smoothies & Juices for Kids Review & Giveaway

Let me start with I am so excited to be sharing the recipe book 201 Healthy Smoothies & Juices for Kids with you!  Our two kids love being in the kitchen and love trying new things!  We found they are even more excited to try new things when they get to help prepare them! I love this recipe book because, well not only does it have awesome recipes but the book starts with lots of really good information about healthy eating, tips about picky eaters and other information for making kids friendly smoothies! Our kids loved that a lot of the recipes called for fruit and veggies!  I do the pealing and cutting of the fruits and veggies and then I would allow the kids to throw all the ingredients into the blender for our smoothies!  They would step back while I blended it all together and then they would stand with their cups ready for some tasty smoothie! So far our entire family's favorite smoothie recipe is the Purrr-fect Pears recipe! Purrr-fect Pears recipe: (Four 1-Cup Servings) 1 cup romaine lettuce 2 pears, peeled and cored 1 apple, peeled and cored 1 banana, pealed 1/2 cup water Ice cubes as needed 1). Combine all ingredients in a blender.  Blend on high until smooth. 2). Continue to blend, while pushing food onto blades with a damper if necessary, until smoothies is consistency desired! Simply 7 Quinoa Chips Review & Giveaway! #Simply7QuinoaChips

This is my second time getting to work with Simply 7!  I was excited when I was offered a chance to work with them again and try their new Quinoa Chips. I am a huge fan of salty snacks!  I previously got to try their other flavors/chips which included: *Pomegranate Chips* Sea Salt Black Pepper White Cheddar   *Lentil Chips* Sea Salt Bruschetta Lentil Jalapeno Creamy Dill   *Hummus Chips* Spicy Chili Pepper Sea Salt Roasted Red Pepper Tomato Basil   This time I was sent a box of the new Quinoa Chips!  The flavors include:   *Quinoa Chips* Barbeque Sea Salt Sour Cream and Onion Cheddar

  I hurried and took pictures of the chips because I knew as soon as my family seen the Simply 7 box in the house the chips would be gone.  We fell in love with Simply 7 chips the last time I reviewed and they are now our go to chip.  You can read my other review on the other chips here!  

I had a hard time picking a favorite flavor from the Quinoa chips.  All the flavors are amazing and it's hard to pick just one favorite flavor.  I think that a lot of people automatically assume that with a company like Simply 7 who uses no artificial colors or flavors, use gluten free ingredients, simple ingredients, 0 grams of trans fat, they have no preservatives or MSG  and are all natural that there is no way on earth the chips can have flavor.  Don't worry to those of you who think that way I used to be just like you!  I challenge you to pick up a bag of Simply 7 chips!  You will fall in love with how much flavor their chips have!        I guess if I had to pick a favorite flavor from the Quinoa Chips I would have to pick the BBQ!  I think even Simply 7 out did themselves with the BBQ flavor!  It's a bold and tasty BBQ flavor that I think anyone who likes BBQ would fall in love with!  The Cheddar and Sour Scream and Onion chips have great flavor too!  Our kids love the Sea Salt chips and dipping them in salsa and guacamole! The BBQ Quinoa Chips have a recipe for Corn & Black Bean Dip on the bag.  I am looking forward to trying it!  You serve the Corn & Black Bean dip with the Simply 7 BBQ Quinoa Chips and I think it will be very good!

Newman's Own Organics Review and Giveaway!!! #PLNOO2014

 

I've been reading reviews about Newman's Own Organics for a while now and had honestly become jealous that I had not tried them yet!  I was recently offered to work with Newman's Own Organics and I jumped for joy!  I patiently waited for my products to arrive so I could start my reviewing process!  The products arrived very quickly! 

 

My family and I receive a nice selection of products to try!  We received lots of snacks that included Pretzels, Dried Fruit, Hermits, Mints, Licorice, Cookies, Chocolate bars and other products.  My husband was trying to dig into the snacks before I could even take pictures of everything.  Needless to say I had to take pictures immediately so we could all dig in!

 

Our favorite products would for sure be the different chocolate bars!  We really liked the flavor of the Orange Dark Chocolate!  This is a BIG deal because I DO NOT like dark chocolate!  I was very surprised at how much I liked it even though it was dark chocolate.  My husband really liked the Espresso Dark Chocolate!  I was a pretty big fan of the Mocha Milk Chocolate.  I would love to purchase these different flavors and find a recipe to use them in!

 

The Orange Chocolate Chip cookies where really good!  My whole family loved them.  We ate the entire bag in one sitting!  My husband and kids are the cookie eaters and they have been enjoying the different varieties of cookies that we received from Newman's Own Organics!  My son and I broke open a thing of the Newman-O's today to try them and they are really good.  The Newman-O's are perfect for dipping in milk!  YUM!

 

 Next let's talk about the Pretzels.  Newman's Own Organics pretzels come in High Protein, Salted Sticks and Salted Rounds.  All three kinds have a perfect amount of salt on them and are really tasty.  My kids and I devoured the bags fairly quickly!  We even made some cheese sauce and dipped the Salted Rounds in the cheese sauce and it was perfect!

Patch Games Go Oink Review and Giveaway! #holidayPL13

Family time is a very important thing in our household.  My husband used to be in the Military and we didn't get to spend as much quality time together as we would have liked to so we always made any family time we did have together a BIG deal.  Now that my husband is out of the Military and for the most part works "normal" work hours we still love our family time and we love that we have more of it.  We have found now that family time can be less costly than before though.  We used to always feel we had to run out and about to do fun things with our kids when we were a Military family.  We have now found we are just as happy spending family time together at watching movies, baking, cooking or playing games.     With all of that said I recently got the opportunity to work with Patch games.  They sent our family the game Go Oink to review.  Go Oink is so much fun!  Go Oink is a twist on the classic game Go Fish.  So I'm sure you are wondering what the difference is!  With Go Oink instead of asking the other players if they have a certain card you have to make the animal noise to "ask" for a card.  So if you need a dog you have to bark to ask for the card. 

The other difference between Go Fish and Go Oink is that in Go Oink you have to come up with a match of three same cards instead of just two.  Go Oink is for ages 4 and up.  Be sure to check Patch games out on Facebook, Twitter and their website!

Family Time!

We have a four year old son and a 6 six year old daughter and they both LOVE this game.  My husband and I love the game just as much as the kids do.  I highly recommend this game!  It's great quality and it's a lot of fun!  It would for sure make a great gift too!

Elemaris XL by Mavea Kissin The Cook Giveaway and Review

The Elemaris XL Water Filtration Pitcher by Mavea is awesome.  This year we moved to a new house and the water is not very good tasting.  I've been wanting to try a Water Filtration Water Pitcher so when I got the chance to work with Mavea I was super excited!    The Elemaris XL 9 cup pitch showed up at my house in very little time and I put it to use right away!  The filter was very easy to put into place and it made our water taste great!  Another reason I love Elemaris XL by Mevea is its Mavea Meter!  The meter uses a 3-way measurement including volume of water, water quality (hardness) and time to tell you exactly when it's time to change to a new filter!  As a mother of two young kids the last thing I want to have to do is try to remember when to replace filters!  With Mavea I don't have to!   I was really surprised when I used the water in my K-Cup coffee maker!  I was surprised that my coffee actually tasted better using the water from the Elemaris XL pitcher!  This got me thinking if it can make my coffee taste better what other beverages that I like making will taste better??  That's when I decided it was time to pull my favorite Cucumber Lemonade Recipe out!    Cucumber Lemonade Recipe:
Ingredients:   1- Large Cucumber 3/4 Cup Sugar 6 Cups Water 1/2 Cup of Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice (we add a little more) 1 tsp Lemon Zest 3/4 tsp Salt Ice Cubes   Putting it together:   1. Wash the Lemon(s) and cucumber.  Peel the Cucumber   2. Chop the cucumber up.  If it has a lot of seed remove some.  Add 2 cups of the water into a blender with the cucumber and sugar.   3. Blend until the sugar is dissolved (about 3 minutes).  Sieve the drink.

  4. Add the remaining water and the cucumber mixture into a pitcher.   5. Add salt, Lemon Juice, Ice cubes, Lemon zest and stir really good to combine.

  6.  Pour into glasses with more Ice cubes or Chill and then serve. *You may garnish with a cucumber slice or a lemon wedge*

  Let me just say that even my homemade Cucumber Lemonade tasted better with water from my Elemaris XL pitcher!  The Elemaris XL pitcher holds 9 cups of water so it was nice not to have to keep filling the pitcher up with more water, even with a recipe that called for a larger amount of water!   Elemaris XL by Mavea is certified to reduce: Chlorine taste and odor Heavy Metals Agricultural Chemicals Industrial Pollutants Limescale   I highly recommend Mavea Water Filtration Systems!
